Bio

Faisal Jones is a composer and pianist whose work draws on a wide range of musical languages, often shaped by the emotional intensity of Romanticism and the formal clarity of contemporary minimalism. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Composition at Bard Conservatory , Faisal has studied under renowned composers Joan Tower, Missy Mazzoli, and George Tsontakis.

His music has been performed by ensembles including the Da Capo Chamber Players, with whom he has collaborated on multiple projects. Faisal has written for a wide variety of forces — from intimate art songs and solo piano works to string quartets and full orchestral pieces — and continues to explore the nuances of writing for both large and small ensembles. In 2025, he worked with the Claudio Santoro National Orchestra in Brasília, Brazil, as part of the Brazilian Orchestral Summit — a cross-cultural initiative highlighting emerging voices in contemporary music.

Grounded in the traditions of classical piano, Faisal brings a deep sensitivity to texture and form in his compositions, often blending romantic expressivity with rhythmic and harmonic restraint. He continues to develop a distinct musical language that speaks across time, grounded in emotional nuance and structural clarity.
